Parvathy Omanakuttan launched in Kollywood

Parvathy Omanakuttan, the beauty queen and former Miss India has been launched as heroine in the Tamil film Umamaheswaram, directed by the young Nithin Ramakrishnan. Newcomer and dancer Mani is playing the hero and Prakash Raj plays a pivotal role.

The �Pooja� launch of the film took place at AVM Studios in Chennai today (May 17) morning. The tall lanky Parvathy was the cynosure of all eyes. Parvathy told the media: �I�m happy to be launched in south with the Tamil film Umamaheswaram, in which I play the role of a Bharathanatiyam dancer. I signed up the film as the script is really good and I have a meaty role in it.�

The veteran director K Viswanath noted for his dance oriented films was the chief guest at the function along with Parthipan. The others at the function were producer PL Thenappan, Kalaipuli Sekharan and VC Guhanathan.
