Ganesh Venkatraman and his rippling muscles are giving young women down South sleepless nights! The brawny young actor made his debut as a Sardarji with Abhiyum Naanum and won approving nods for his portrayal. As the tough cop in Kamal Haasan's Unnaipol Oruvan, Ganesh made many many female hearts palpitate!
Now the actor is excited about his next project Kandahar, in which he will play the son of none other than Amitabh Bachchan. "Yes, I play Amitabh Bachchanji�s son, who goes on to become a commando, in Major Ravi�s Kandahar. The story is based on the hijacking of the Indian Airlines Flight 814 in 1999 in Kandahar,� he explained to a leading English daily.
�It�s a dream come true. I really had to pinch myself to believe the news. The icing on the cake is that it was Mohanlal sir who recommended me for the role. The moment I got the confirmation, the first thing I did was to inform director Radhamohan and actor Prakashraj, who introduced me to Tamils audience in Abhiyum Naanum,� he added.
Kandahar is army office-turned-filmmaker Major Ravi's much-awaited trilingual, starring Mohanlal and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. The film, to be made simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu, is expected to begin shooting in June.
