Just two days after actress Khushboo entered into politics by joining its political rival and ruling DMK, led by M. Karunanidhi, AIADMK supremo Jayalalitha backed Jaya TV has decided to stop telecasting the nine-year-long popular reality game show 'Jackpot', anchored by Khushboo, from this Sunday.
Jaya TV sources said the hour-long programme was stopped as the channel's policy was not to have any link with people, who had connections with DMK. They also pointed out that the channel refrained from the telecast of films for which Chief Minister and DMK patriarch M. Karunanidhi had penned the script. Jaya TV is now said to be scouting for a suitable replacement for the actress.
When contacted, Khushboo said it was not a surprise for her as she was expecting it since joining the DMK on Friday. The 39-year-old actress, however, said it was wrong to mix business with politics.
