Vijayakumar, the noted actor who appears in supporting roles was arrested by the Kerala Police on Saturday (May 15) on a cheating case. He had been cheating many people promising them visas and passports.
As per the police reports he allegedly took Rs. 3.50 lakhs from Louis D'Cruz in 2007, after promising him a US Visa. He is also accused of getting a sum of Rs. 4.19 lakhs from Muraleedharan of Vaduthala for a UK visa and passport. He went back on his promise in both the cases and refused to return the money.
It is noteworthy that the actor was arrested by the Kochi City Police in 2009 in connection with a dacoity case in which Rs. 25 lakhs was forcibly taken from some people at South Kalamassery after throwing chilly powder into their eyes. During the police interrogation, he also attempted to commit suicide by cutting the veins of his wrist.
Vijayakumar appears in all big superstar films as hero�s friend or the villain�s henchman and is regular in Joshy and Shaji Kailas films. He has now been remanded to the Aluva sub-jail for 14 days by the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Aluva.
