Four Malayalam films and the sequel to a sensational Bollywood hit will make Dec 21, a thoroughly busy day at the movies.
Da Thadiya, directed by Aashiq Abu, is about the romantic tale of an obese youth. DJ Sekhar Menon makes his entry into movies playing the lead, along with Ann Augustine, Nivin Pauly, Arundhati Nag, Sreenath Bhasi, V K Sreeraman, Maniyanpillai Raju and Edavela Babu. Produced by Anto Joseph Film Company, Da Thadiya has camera by Shyju Khaled and music by Biji Bal.
Bavuttiyude Namathil is being produced by Capitol Theatre and has been scripted by Ranjith. Directed by G S Vijayan, the film has Mammootty in the title role, along with Kavya Madhavan, Vineeth, Sankar Ramakrishnan, Kaniha and Rima Kallingal. The cinematographer is Manoj Pillai and the music director is Shahabaz Aman.
Karmayodha presents Mohanlal as encounter specialist Madhav Menon aka 'Mad Maddy'. Directed by Major Ravi and produced by Red Rose Creations, the film has Mukesh, Sai Kumar, Asha Sarath, Aiswarya Devan and Rajeev Pillai in the cast. The cinematographer is Pradeep Nair and the music director is M G Sreekumar.
I Love Me, directed by B Unnikrishnan based on Sethu's script, is being produced by Vyshakha Cinema. Anoop Menon, Unni Mukundan, Asif Ali and Isha Talwar include the main cast. Satheesh Kurup wields the camera and Deepak Dev scores the music.
The Bollywood release is Dabangg 2, the sequel to Dabangg that is one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema. Salman Khan is back as the daredevil cop Chulbul Pandey. Sonakshi Sinha is the heroine. Arbaaz Khan is the director of the sequel.
The Hollywood release of the day is Rise of the Guardians, an animation movie with the voices of Hugh Jackman, Jude Law and Alec Baldwin in it.
